Pre-IME: The Early Assessment
Early Assessments allow claims managers or attorneys the ability to achieve an early understanding of an examinee's injury and if it fits the profile of a long duration injury and any correlated liability. This early view provides all involved with the necessary information to better determine appropriateness of care and direction for any further diagnostic testing. Also, the insurance carrier now has an earlier tool to discuss the case with the treating physician and understand the return to work issues and need for household help or equipment needed that can potentially reduce time to return to work and overall claim costs. At the time of scheduling for the initial examination, a follow-up evaluation, if requested, can also be scheduled so that the case can be closely watched during its preliminary stages.
